When there is debate, there are solutions On 26th and 27th September Kamla Jeevan Inter-School Hindi Debate was held in The Doon School Dehra Dun. Prestigious Schools from all over the country participated in the competition. For the preliminary round the teams were divided into two groups and the debate was held on round robin league each team competing with all the teams of their group. Sherwood College Nainital was represented by Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah, Himani Mehra and Harshit Pathak. Their first debate was against Gems School Dubia. The topic for the debate was, ‘Yudh se hee Shanti Sambhav Hai.’ Expressing their views against the motion Sherwood College won the debate and Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah was declared the best speaker.

The second debate was against Vasant Valley New Delhi, where speaking for the topic, ‘Vartaman rajneeti swantaya Sukh Ke Liye Hai’, Sherwood once again was declared the winner with Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah adjudged as the best speaker. The topic for the third debate was, ‘Vigyan Vivek Ka Paryaye Nahi Hai’ and expressing their views against the motion Sherwood once again proved their mettle and won the debate defeating Unison School Dehra Dun. The last debate of the group was against Sanskar Valley Bhopal and expressing their views against the motion, ‘Vigyapan Safalta Ki Gurantee Hai’, Sherwood won the debate with Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah as the best speaker. Sherwood College won all the debates of their pool and topped their group. In the Semi-Final Sherwood lost to Mayo Girls College Ajmer but once again Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah was adjudged as the best speaker The Doon School Dehra Dun lifted the most coveted Kamala Jeevan trophy. Apurav Gaurav Bikram Shah with five Best Speaker Trophies was adjudged as the Best Speaker of the Competition. He with his powerful eloquence and Oratory skills held the audience spellbound and also won many accolades.

On 26th of September 2015 L.O. Edwards Memorial Choir festival a Choir Fest was organised by Wynberg Allen School Mussoorie. Prestigious school of Uttarakhand participated in the fest.

Sherwood Choir meticulously prepared by Mr. A.P. Singh, Mr. Devin Shipley and Mr. Sondeep Mondal participated in the Fest. The Choir was conducted by student conductor Yeshi Choedon.

The Choir sang with animated commitment and presented a beautiful rendition of the songs- Amigos Para Sempra, Santa Lucia, Wooden Heart, O Fortuna, Handsome Butchen, Carnevele de Venicia and Hallelujah Chorus. The lilt of harmonizing and mellifluous voices enthralled the audience and left them vibrating with a wondrous sense of musical rapport.

Sherwood Choir expresses gratitude to their Principal Mr. Amandeep Sandhu for providing this wonderful opportunity to showcase their skill and for always being their pillar of strength.
